Week 20 Grade 7
We'll start with a Teams meeting and then in today's lesson you'll look at sound.
By the end of the lesson you should be able to:
Sound part 1 17 mins
Sound part 2 13 mins
And the learning check task is here. This is due for the start of your lesson next week.
Week 19 Grade 7 Monday, Tuesday Wednesday May 5-7th
We'll start with a teams meeting and then you will get instructions about some pair work to complete some slides on the Electromagnetic Spectrum.

for Week 18 Grade 7 Physics Monday, Tuesday Wednesday April 27-29
After the Teams Live meeting, please watch this tutorial video on Wave properties It's about 35 minutes so have a break in it and remember to stretch.
This short clip should help you understand too: Transverse or longitudinal waves video
Then do the lesson task, which is due in next week just before you lesson.
This is the site of the excellent simulations if you want to have a hunt around for more.
Work for Week 17 Grade 7 Physics Monday, Tuesday Wednesday April 20th - 22nd
TEST - attend the Teams meeting and the link will be given then.
The test is open note book.
If you cannot attend, have problems etc. please contact me.
Week 16 Grade 7 Physics Tuesday April 14th; Wednesday April 15th
Let's start with a Teams call at the start,
In week 17 you will have a test. Sorry. Has to be done.
Here is a list of the topics covered and some information.
Here is a page of tips for studying for open note tests. The 'study with a friend' suggestion still works - just do it virtually !
So in the lesson, you can ask questions about the physics you have studied and we can use it as a revision. The homework will be to study for the test - there is no form to complete and evidence of your attendance of the lesson just comes from the Teams meeting.
Week 15 Grade 7 Physics
We'll start with a Teams meeting and then in today's lesson you'll look at sound.
By the end of the lesson you should be able to:
- describe the pitch of sound using the term frequency
- know how sound moves in materials
- explain what is meant by ultrasound
Sound part 1 17 mins
Sound part 2 13 mins
And the learning check task is here. This is due for the start of your lesson next week.
Week 19 Grade 7 Monday, Tuesday Wednesday May 5-7th

Week 15 Grade 7 Physics
Wednesday April 8th 10.15 and 12.30
Please start the lesson by joining the Teams meeting.
Lesson task: complete the task set from last time: Produce a short video (less than 2 minutes) which explains one natural phenomena of light that you have met during these lessons e.g. why the sky is blue, what a solar halo is, how a rainbow forms. It should show the physics involved, and your understanding of it. You can use things you actually see at the time or images online. Please upload the video to Teams or email it to me.
When you have finished, please spend the time going through your note book, checking you have all the work. There will be a test in week 17 (2 weeks' time)

Karin's Video for the lesson
Monday group: you do NOT have to do this part.
Remember - during lesson time I am sat in front of my computer checking email, Wilma and Teams if you wish to reach me. I am very happy to help you.

Refraction - taittuminen
By the end of this lesson you should be able to:
- explain what is meant by refraction
- draw light ray diagrams to show refraction
- give examples of where total internal reflection takes place
- be able to identify natural light phenomena like rainbows, haloes and light pillars
- list some uses of total internal reflection
You will need your notebooks - during the videos I will tell you what the most important parts are to help you take notes.
Click on this link for the tutorial video.
Total internal reflection video (Quantum Boffin)
Optical Fibres (Physics Demos)
Dispersion of light and colour video (Manocha Academy)
As proof of your attendance you must fill in this form Attendance form which must be completed at the end of the day of the timetabled lesson.
Task to check your understanding - this is due before the start of your next lesson
